What's important is that we recognize those differences and adjust our teaching style because it is much easier than adjusting their learning style. I hope it continues to work for you. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15974152591755106562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1948129085042150979.post-18039682081172042692012-08-10T11:04:36.618-04:002012-08-10T11:04:36.618-04:00I have used this method with my son starting last ...I have used this method with my son starting last month, he is 4.5 years old BTW. He learned his letters and all of their sounds when he was 2 (thanks to phonics dvds), however we were not making any progress after that since he was not willing to sound out words on his own. Ever since trying this method he has already memorized around 30 words. We read a lot of Dr. Seuss books like The cat in the hat comes back.johnjan25https://www.blogger.com/profile/07573461874493346945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1948129085042150979.post-67713534126709698372012-08-08T10:52:03.997-04:002012-08-08T10:52:03.997-04:00It's definitely best to use both approaches to...It's definitely best to use both approaches together.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15974152591755106562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1948129085042150979.post-12595352390741764582012-08-08T10:50:57.412-04:002012-08-08T10:50:57.412-04:00Thanks so much for stopping by! :)Thanks so much for stopping by! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15974152591755106562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1948129085042150979.post-31234741864274803812012-08-07T14:13:36.977-04:002012-08-07T14:13:36.977-04:00This looks like a great way to make reading fun an...This looks like a great way to make reading fun and real, and it's great togetherness time. I like to use a combination of phonics and sight words. I like the book called "UP" to teach the U and P sound. Flash cards can be boring, but if you make a fun game out of them they are not so bad. Can't wait to read more tips on teaching sight words!
